The activities of the Division include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Division of Mathematical Analysis was established in 2009. It brings together academic staff whose research interests and activities lie in the following areas of mathematics:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Division currently comprises seven members: five holding research and teaching positions, one lecturer, and one assistant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Members of the Division engage in collaborative research with mathematicians from around the world, present their scientific achievements at international conferences and seminars, undertake research visits at leading international institutions, review articles for major mathematical literature databases, and evaluate manuscripts submitted to international journals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We are proud to note that Davor Dragi\u010devi\u0107 was awarded the National Prize for Science in 2017, in the category recognizing outstanding young scientists in the field of natural sciences.<\/p>\n\n\n

Members of the Division regularly publish a significant number of scientific articles, both independently and in collaboration with researchers from other scientific institutions. A substantial portion of these articles has appeared in highly esteemed international journals.<\/p>\n\n\n

It is worth highlighting that a member of the Division, Davor Dragi\u010devi\u0107, is a co-author of the book Admissibility & Hyperbolicity<\/em> (together with Luis Barreira and Claudio Valls), published in 2018 by the prestigious publisher Springer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Members of the Division participate in the delivery of courses within the Mathematics programme at both undergraduate and graduate levels. They also teach courses in the Faculty of Physics, Faculty of Informatics and Digital Technologies, as well as at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and the Faculty of Engineering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Most instructors have established e-courses through the Merlin system, thereby integrating modern didactic methods into their teaching. Moreover, due to the specialized nature of the courses taught by Division members (such as Numerical Mathematics or Mathematical Statistics), they continuously monitor trends in IT technologies to enable students to work with up-to-date and widely adopted software packages and programming languages, including Python, C++, and R.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Through their teaching activities, Division members actively encourage students\u2019 research work, resulting in numerous publications co-authored with their students. Some of the most recent include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Several members have been recognized for their teaching excellence:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Ivana Slami\u0107 again received the Teaching Excellence Award for the 2024\/2025 academic year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Ivana Slami\u0107 received the University of Rijeka Teaching Excellence Award in the 2017\/2018 academic year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Davor Dragi\u010devi\u0107 and Emma \u0160epi\u0107 received the Teaching Excellence Award for the 2020\/2021 academic year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In addition to their research and teaching, members of the Division are actively engaged in professional work in the fields of mathematics, applied mathematics, engineering, mathematics education, and science popularization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In 2015 and 2018, Division members delivered lectures and workshops at the Rijeka Mathematical Meetings, with topics including Challenges in Mathematical Analysis<\/em> and The Mathematics of Chance<\/em>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Chair: Assoc.
