Science

The Faculty of Mathematics has a total of 32 staff members, including 21 holders of a doctoral degree (16 in research and teaching positions), one holder of a master’s degree, and one administrative staff member. Since the establishment of the Faculty in 2008, 18 staff members have earned a doctoral degree in mathematics.

Faculty members are involved in 13 research projects, serving as principal investigators, researchers, or early-career scientists.

The Faculty is organised into three divisions:

  • Division of Algebra and Number Theory
  • Division of Discrete Mathematics
  • Division of Mathematical Analysis

The largest scientific event organised by the Faculty was the Fifth Croatian Mathematical Congress in 2012, which brought together 193 participants from 15 countries. The programme included six plenary lectures, eight invited lectures, 104 short communications, 15 poster presentations, and three round-table discussions addressing current topics in mathematics and mathematics education in Croatia.
